Communication Paper                                                                                  Since the start of time man has been growing in the methods we think and interact with one another. What was appropriate a era ago may not be appropriate today. As nurses we know incredibly intimate information on our patients' lives, those details can obnubilate the line between a friendly relationship and a professional relationship. Even if you feel you understand the patient like you know other people you know you still have to treat them with the utmost respect, and dignity. Cultural communication is definitely something we do on a regular basis whether it is with a patient or acquaintance, we refer to it as small speak. In contrast Therapeutic communication skills are very particular and goal oriented, that they aren't expertise one is created with, having these skills take time to perfect and build on. What is connection? The Townsend text specifies it because " an interactive means of transmitting info between several entities”. A nurse-patient relationship can easily have multiple types of communication including nontherapeutic, cultural, and restorative. If a nurse errs and uses non-therapeutic communication including rejecting, giving reassurance, or probing, adverse outcomes occur.
